The Friends of the Carthage Public Library is a group of volunteers. Our mission is to support and assist the Carthage Public Library in its policies and programs; to promote the development of excellent library service in the community; to foster closer relations between the library and the citizens of the community; to promote knowledge of the library's functions, resources and needs; and to provide the means for members to exchange ideas, information and experiences.
The Friends group provides volunteers to help with Library projects and programs, conducts fund raisers and supplements the library budget by funding programs or purchasing materials, furnishings, or other items for the Carthage Public Library.

Library receives donation of land for a new building and
launches "Dare to Dream" Capital Campaign.

The Friends of the Library group is working with the Library Foundation, staff, and Board of Trustees on the Dare to Dream Capital Campaign.
The Library is eligible for a Public Library Construction Act Grant of almost $1.26 million if the community is able to raise the local cost share of $1.2 million.
The Capital Campaign was kicked off on Oct. 24, 2020 with Prairieland Investment Group donating the building site to the Library.
Instead of having our own fundraising activities this year, the Friends are pledging some of our funds to the campaign and and volunteering our time to assist with the library's fundraising efforts. Major donations should be made to the Carthage Library Foundation, an official 501(c)3. Checks and cash are accepted, but if online giving is easier, you may pay with a credit card or Paypal using the donate button above.
