Finding Library Materials
Clicking the "Search our Collection" button above will open a link to RSACat, our on-line Card Catalog. After conducting a search, the results page will have 5 tabs, plus filtering options. The first tab shows all physical books, movies, etc. that are owned by Carthage Public Library. The Juvenile tab, shows are items that are for children. If our copy is checked out, you may place a hold to be on the waiting list. The third tab shows e-books and e-audios that our patrons can download and includes titles from both ADML (Overdrive/Libby) and ereadIllinois (axis360). The ALL RSA tab shows items owned by all libraries in our consortia. If you place a hold, the item will come to us through InterLibrary Loan. The filters are very helpful here to limit by format or specify adult or juvenile. The "Online Articles" tab is new - our card catalog now contains hundreds of downloadable articles from journals and other sources. |

Bid Results - Project delayed
Only two general contractors submitted a bid for the new building. Both bids were over $5 million, which is much higher than we had estimated. A special board meeting was held on May 31, 2022. The trustees were unable to accept either of these bids.
We will work with the architects to make changes to the plans in an effort to reduce costs. The project will be put out for bids again at a later date.
We are also seeking additional grants and other sources of funding. All donations are appreciated! The brick and paver project form is above,
or more information is on the Library Foundation page of this website.
